Holy Week Special

Yearly, Catholics and Christians designates a week to commemorate the sacrifice, suffering and death of Christ our savior. Its the time when people go to different churches, have their own sacrifice and some are trying to do what our Lord have done in the past, walk with a heavy cross until they reach the mountain where they will be crucified. For some, it is a long break to go out of town with their families. But what is the true essence of holy week. Well, for believers, it is the best time to reflect and be enlightened. It is the time when we can think of all the things we have done and ask forgiveness for our shortcomings and wrongdoings. It is the time of thinking how the Lord have suffered just to save us from our sins and it is the time that we start doing good deeds to payback all the things that God have done to us by doing good to other people and following all his commandments.

I remember when I was a child, I know if it is holy week already if there are no regular shows except for biblical shows in television. I am fond of watching stories like Noah, Moses, and the story of other apostles. Not realizing what is the true message of these movies. All I know is that I am fond of these because of the special effects. Now that I am grown up, I have realized many things and the true message of those movies. television networks are not showing those movies that I am always looking forward to whenever holy week is coming. But good thing they are showing movies with good moral lessons to make us realize how important it is to live with God in the center and for us to realize how beautiful life is.
